Course Description
Explores the perspectives and needs of grantmakers. Learn how to build relationships with funders and find out what they truly look for. Experience scoring and selecting submissions firsthand, and meet with a local grantmaker to discuss their real-life experiences working with applicants.
Intended Outcomes for the course
Upon successful completion of the course students should be able to:
Evaluate grant makers’ perspectives and criteria to align their proposals with funding priorities
Craft compelling grant narratives, develop clear and realistic budgets, and assemble strong application packages.
Identify strengths and areas for improvement in their proposals after an in-class feedback process
Create a decision-making framework to assess and prioritize grant opportunities, ensuring they invest time in the most promising funding sources.
