Today we reviewed for the Unit 5 test and then took the Unit 5 test. Here are?the slides?from today. In the last hour, we went on a library tour and everyone checked out a book to read for their?book report.
We did not have time to introduce Unit 9 and the simple past. The simple past is how we talk and write about a past event or action, like yesterday?or last weekend. I used simple past in the first paragraph:?reviewed, took, went, checked. Do you see the verbs with an “ed” ending? Why do the other verbs look different? Regular verbs add “ed” to form the past tense. Irregular verbs have a new stem and do not add “ed”. “review” and “check” are regular; “take” and “go” are?irregular.
